| Students
must complete or hold a seniors first aid certificate
at time of graduation.
Upon
completion participants will have developed specialised
skills and knowledge to progress in hair design and
the beauty industry. It provides participants with the
necessary skills, knowledge and understanding of management
practices as they relate to hairdressing salons and
enable participants to develop their businesses (or
those in which they are employed) from a strategic perspective
implementing initiatives to lead and take responsibility
for a range of management services. These may include;
establishing salon protocols, business planning, leading
and managing others, developing and achieving business
objectives and contributing to the commercial success
and viability of the business.
Students
need to have successfully completed a Certificate IV
in Hairdressing (or equivalent). Participants completing
similar units or who can demonstrate experience will
be able to seek recognition of prior learning upon enrolment.
A full RPL application kit is available from the Australian
Institute of Applied Sciences administration.
Combined
Programmes
Students may combine their studies of the Certificate
IV in Hairdressing and Diploma of Hairdressing Salon
Management to achieve both awards simultaneously, thereby
reducing the timeframe to achievement. Students should
contact Administration for assistance in timetabling
this option.
