The WRH40106 Certificate IV in Hairdressing course is
designed to provide the participant with the specialist
knowledge and skill to function within the operations
of a hairdressing salon. Students have the option of
advancing their practical hairdressing skills, adding
additional skills from within the Beauty sector to further
diversify and provide a range of options to their clients,
or combining management principles with the skills already
acquired from their hairdressing experiences. Once completed
graduates will be “job ready” to enter the
hairdressing industry as a qualified hairdresser with
specialised skills in hair design services, management
and or the beauty industry. Industry recognition includes
the application of the knowledge and skills over a period
of time in a commercial environment (such as an apprenticeship).
Subsequently, to achieve industry recognition as a qualified
hairdresser, participants would need to complete industry
training in a commercially operating salon or similar
environment over time to ensure complete competence
in knowledge and application of skills. The institute
offers such training to ensure the highest recognition
possible is able to be achieved by our graduates.

Students
must complete or hold a seniors first aid certificate
at time of graduation.
WRH30106
Certificate III in Hairdressing is a pre-requisite qualification
for entry into the WRH40106 Certificate IV in hairdressing
course. Subsequently, participants must either complete
the certificate III qualification first or provide evidence
(certified copy of the qualification and list of units
completed) that all of the required units from certificate
III have already been completed elsewhere. To achieve
Certificate IV in Hairdressing, all essential units
must be completed plus a minimum of four elective units
from the Hairdressing, Beauty or Management streams
detailed above.
Combined
Programmes
Students may combine their studies of the Certificate
III in Hairdressing with either Certificate IV in Hairdressing
and/or the Diploma of Hairdressing Salon Management
to achieve multiple awards simultaneously, thereby reducing
the timeframe to achievement. Students should contact
Administration for assistance in timetabling this option.
