Overview

The Nationally Recognised WRH20106 Certificate II in Hairdressing is a pre-vocational level qualification that will suit those people with little or no experience as a hairdresser. The course is designed to provide the participant with a basic conceptual knowledge and skill of the operations of a commercially operating salon. The limited application of the skills required to perform hairdressing services will be in direct support of qualified hairdressers in the salon environment. These may include shampooing and rinsing clients, preparing clients for service, direct assistance to hairdressers and performing customer service duties, as well as the additional skills of removing hair colour, product recommendations, simple blow-drying techniques, relaxing hair and scalp massage.

Notes

Students must complete or hold a seniors first aid certificate at time of graduation.

Students must complete or hold a seniors first aid certificate at time of graduation.
Upon completion of this qualification, participants may elect to continue their studies and have the opportunity to continue to the next qualification where credit will be granted for units already completed. Participants completing similar units will be able to seek recognition of prior learning upon enrolment. A full RPL application kit is available from the Australian Institute of Applied Sciences administration.

It is important to note that on completion of this qualification participants may also be able to seek employment as a first year apprentice with a commercial hairdressing salon. Again, this qualification also offers direct credit for all units of competency into the Certificate III in Hairdressing, and will reduce the timeframe for completing additional awards.
