Students
must complete or hold a seniors first aid certificate
at time of graduation. The focus of the Certificate
III course is not only on the necessary underpinning
knowledge to be a competent hairdresser but includes
a vast array of hand on practical experience options,
ranging from classroom based activities, to simulated
and real-world salons, as well as excursions to some
of Australia’s leading manufacturers and Salons.
Once
students have completed this qualification, they may
elect to continue their studies and have the opportunity
to continue to the next qualification where credit will
be granted for units already completed towards the WRH40106
Certificate IV in Hairdressing or WRH50106 Diploma of
Hairdressing Salon Management. Participants completing
similar units or who can demonstrate experience will
be able to seek recognition of prior learning upon enrolment.
A full RPL application kit is available from the Australian
Institute of Applied Sciences administration.
Upon
completion of this qualification students will be able
to seek employment as a fully qualified hairdresser
with a commercial hairdressing salon.
Combined
Programmes
Students may combine their studies of the Certificate
III in Hairdressing with either Certificate IV in Hairdressing
and/or the Diploma of Hairdressing Salon Management
to achieve multiple awards simultaneously, thereby reducing
the timeframe to achievement. Students should contact
Administration for assistance in timetabling this option.
